About
Eda Emirdağ and Karl Larsson are visual artists who work specifically in photography and met at the artist residency program called ‘’Kultivera’’ in Sweden 2016. Both artists produce collaborative and participatory art projects in their practices. At the same time, the similarity of the ways of using photography and the conceptual production styles feed each other and create projects that produce other contradictions and systems. While the two artists produce projects that cover and include each other in their individual productions as a duo, they also produce social projects that create a single aesthetic value or create a community from the two artists.

In “Layers upon Layers’’ Eda Emirdağ imitating Karl Larsson's photographs taken during the artist residency at Kultıvera.
In order to do a similar thing in Ankara, Karl Larsson will take photographs in the new city he will meet, while Eda Emirdağ will use these photographs to examine the images from the library of Ka Atölye where they are located and imitate them with drawings.
The two artists want to continue the small and random aesthetic that emerged when they came together in Sweden in other cities and libraries. Two artists practise based on photography but also they using different print techniques and for this project they are doing collaboration with https://www.douprintstudio.com ( Istanbul and Ankara) lithography print for the two different aesthetic in a one way.
It is a pattern work inspired by Eda Emirdağ's 4800 photographic installation called "1TB" and Karl Larsson's 2008 photographic installation called "Fritera Ofog", and references the similar works that the artists produced in the same year without being aware of each other.
The work that the two artists created by taking advantage of the cultural heritage and cultural differences in weaving between Sweden and Turkey in order to bring this similarity to a single area, is an effort of two artists to bring similar works together with culture.
In order to investigate the meanings and weaving styles of the patterns and weaving styles in the weaving culture and Turkish culture, which caught Karl Larsson's attention during his visit to Istanbul, the artists bring together their photographs in a cultural context in a single area. Contrary to the permanence of cultural heritage, photographs printed with thermal printing are produced to be destroyed.
